Display For A Peach
This painting is inspired by my own feelings between the connection of beauty and worth that is present in our culture. My age has slowly transformed into something I regret, not look forward too, as it marks a decline. Aging is inevitable, but set it my prime I hold this unrealistic fear of my worth decreasing as I age. Thus I demand a stage, a display for beauty to preserve it in its status.
The display case is supposed to mimic that of a coffin because she is shackled by her expectations. What is meant to be a display for her presentation, has become the very cage that limits her.
